Crafts for teens can be fun, and many can easily make their very own unique creations with nothing more than some string, a scrap of paper and colourfully coloured thread. Even string art can be fun and easy to do, and teenagers can even make their very own art with some extra string! If you have some leftover string, what about creating beautiful decorative lights in the room.
String lights are very popular among teenagers. They are inexpensive and easy to make. All you need is a string and a few colourful threads. The best thing is that you don’t have to use any glue, so you can be free to play around with it.
You will first need to cut your threads. This may seem daunting, but it’s actually pretty simple if you have the right tools. To cut a string you should first ensure that your hook is sharp, or else your thread will come undone, leaving your lights tangled. To do this simply place a nail on the tip of your hook, and then slide the hook through your piece of string. If your hook is too blunt, you could even cut yourself, so be careful.
Once you’ve sharpened your hook, you don’t need to worry about the rest. You can now simply thread the thread through your string. For a really fun way to create a string, why not wrap it with some coloured thread, like your favourite toy, before wrapping it up and tucking it under a pile of other toys.
Using your hands, begin winding the thread, keeping one end at the beginning. If you get lost, take the thread and loop it through your fingers. Once you reach the end, tie off with your finger, and make sure to tie it securely!
Once you have completed your simple craft, you can start using your imagination! Create some colourful bows to hold them in place, or string together a series of small flowers to create a beautiful bouquet. String light bulbs along a ceiling rail, or on the ceiling fan. Whatever you choose, you are sure to enjoy your homemade craft, especially when you give your teen’s some of their very own!

If you want something a little more creative, why not consider using some coloured beads as a base for a necklace? The beads themselves look great as well as they make a fantastic necklaces. If you’re really looking for a unique idea, why not try a chain with a few different coloured beads on either side? This can make a really impressive necklace that your teen can wear!
Another unique idea that your teenager may not be able to do on their own is a balloon bouquet. Simply pick up some balloons and wrap them around your flowers, then add a number of beads.
As a last but certainly not least, you could take some balloons and hang them from the ceiling or the front door. Again, this is a very cheap and fun craft. You can make your own balloon bouquet by simply taking a few balloons and placing them in a vase and tying a ribbon around them, but it’s not necessary!
As you can see, there are so many different ways you can make your own projects. Don’t forget, you can always print them out for your teens if you want, if they get bored!
